Whole Deer Antler - Natural Chew

A dog that needs something to get its teeth into. An antler that can actually take it. That's the idea.

These are whole red deer antlers - naturally shed, collected by hand, nothing added. No artificial anything. No smell. Just a proper, long-lasting chew that's high in calcium, protein and minerals, and tough enough for dogs who mean business.

Darren's dogs have them. That's the short version of the quality check.

The chewing action helps clean teeth and shift tartar build-up too - so it's doing a job while they're enjoying themselves. Sounds obvious, but it's worth saying.

Sold by weight, not length. Every piece is different - that's the nature of a natural product.

Which size?

We stock XL and XXL - here's a rough guide, though every dog's different and if you're not sure, size up:

• XL (151–200g) - A good fit for most Spaniels and medium-sized dogs who are confident chewers.
• XXL (201–250g) - Better suited to Labradors and larger breeds, or any dog who gets through chews quickly.

(more sizes may follow if they are popular - and likely to be larger as any smaller than the XL we'd not be comfortable giving to our spaniels)

If your dog is a serious chewer, go bigger. A chew that's gone in a day isn't doing its job.

The important bit - read this before you order.

Deer antler is a natural product. Every piece varies in shape, size and colour - that's not a fault, that's what natural looks like. We do our best to remove sharp edges but check it yourself before you hand it over.

Be there when your dog's chewing. Some dogs will try to swallow anything that fits in their mouth - if yours is one of them, this isn't the right chew. Keep water available. Simple, but important.

Puppies - wait until the adult teeth are fully in. We've heard of young dogs cracking teeth on antlers because they were given one too soon. If your dog isn't there yet, start with a split chew and build up.
