Sight - the ultra-HD photographic feather print is as close to a real red-legged partridge as a training dummy gets. Accurate body size, realistic shape, full head, wings and tail. When it drops from the sky as a mark or sits in rough grass as a static retrieve, your dog marks it like the real thing. Because it looks like the real thing. Smell - the fabric holds scent. Clip it to your game bag, leave it where birds have been, run it through cover. It builds up scent memory your dog can work with. Touch - this is the one handlers always underestimate. Getting the pick-up right on a bird with a floppy head and spread wings is a skill. Learn it in a training field with no pressure, not on a driven day with a full peg line watching.
