That's fine for most work. But when you're using a dummy launcher - when the dog is watching something leave at distance and tracking it down - what it sees in the air starts to matter. A bird-shaped dummy that falls like a bird, looks like a bird on the way down, is a different training stimulus to a tube. And different stimuli build different habits.

These are the Dog & Field Original Clone Launcher Dummies. Designed to go in a launcher, built to look like the real thing on the way up and on the way down.

Feather Print Canvas - HD photographic feather pattern printed directly onto durable canvas. Looks like a bird in the air. Falls with the right visual profile. Everything a standard launcher dummy does, with the added marking advantage of a realistic bird pattern the dog can track from distance. Clean to throw, reduced recoil, fits all standard launchers.

Full Bird - takes it further. Swinging head, wings and feet. This version doesn't just look like a bird in the air - it moves like one. The head swings on the fall. The wings shift. A dog watching this come down is watching something that behaves like a flushed and shot game bird, not a projectile. Then it retrieves something with a head, wings and feet - which means the pick-up requires actual thought about mouth placement. Two training problems solved in the same throw.

Both versions fit all standard dummy launchers and have been engineered to reduce recoil whilst maintaining distance. You don't lose range for the sake of realism.

Available in Pheasant and Partridge. Run them alongside standard launchers for variety, or use exclusively when the dog is ready to move beyond basic marking into realistic game bird work.
